Quoting Brad Negaard,
JU Rowing alumnus on the new rowing center:
"The new JU Rowing
Center will support and strengthen the mens' and womens' current
programs like never before. The center will provide the students a destination
where they can study in a relaxed environment, socialize in the game room, review
video tapes or just meditate and enjoy friends on the upstairs screened balcony.
Overlooking the St. Johns River, the rowing program students will have access
to 32 rowing machines.
"The entry foyer will
give the rowing program a place to display the memorabilia from our past. Trophies,
photos, tales of the best races and the brick floor etched with each of our
names will give us a sense that we are home.
"Thanks to all the
rowing alums and friends of rowing who have generously given back to their university.
They, along with the commitment of President Romesburg and the administration,
have made the expansion and success of this program possible."
