JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU women's track & field team will begin competing in the 2008 Atlantic Sun Indoor Championships on Friday in Johnson City, Tenn.

The Dolphins, the only A-Sun team to win the indoor championships, will be in search of their third championship in a row.

"The team championship will rightfully belong to the program that maximizes its potential over the two day competition," said JU head coach Ron Grigg. "Our athletes making the trip are well prepared to get the job done, and the expectation is that they will do just that."

The Dolphins return three champions from last year's triumph - junior Natasha Harvey (60-meter hurdles), junior Shaquania Lundy (triple jump) and junior Simone Clark (pentathlon).

Harvey had the furthest long jump in the conference this season, leaping 20-09.75" at the Tom Jones Memorial Classic in Gainesville, Fla. on Jan. 26.

She also owns the fastest 60-meter hurdle time in the conference with a time of 8:64 in the Clemson Invitational on Jan. 18 and she has the second best mark in the triple jump and 60-meter dash.

Including Harvey, the Dolphins own the top four marks in the 60-meter dash, with Clark, sophomore Tiffany Bromfield and freshman J'Zotta Rolle wrapping up the top four.

Lundy's school record triple jump of 42-00" lead the conference and she also had the third-best long jump mark.

Sophomore Alison Ritter has the top mark in the mile, freshman Anastasia Folkina owns the best time in the 800-meters and sophomore Hillary Crook enters with the furthest throw in the shot put.
