Women's outdoor track & field team wraps up day two of Pepsi Florida Relays

April 6, 2008

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The JU women's outdoor track & field team had another strong day on day two of the inclement weather-shortened Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla. on Saturday.

The Dolphins Distance Medley Relay team of freshman Anastasia Fokina, freshman J'Zotta Rolle, junior Janel Grooms and sophomore Alison Ritter broke the school record with a time of 12:04.13.

"We fought the conditions today and had a few bright spots," said JU head coach Ron Grigg. "However, we will need to see continued improvement if we plan to advance the reputation of our program."

Junior Shaquania Lundy won the "B" section of the triple jump with a regional qualifying mark of 40-07.00.

The Dolphins 4x100 meter shuttle hurdle team of Rolle, junior Natasha Harvey, junior Simone Clark and sophomore Tiffany Bromfield took second place overall and first among collegiate teams with a time of 57.61.

The 4x100 meter team of Lundy, Clark, Harvey and freshman Danielle Davenport finished 21st with a time of 47.97.

The Dolphins will travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to compete in the Seminole Invitational on April 12.
