Justin Newell joined the Jacksonville University staff in February of 2006 as the Director of Facilities and Operations. Newell's duties include the maintenance and coordination of all athletic facilities at Jacksonville University. He also functions as the liaison for the Athletic Department with the campus Physical Plant and University Programming Council. Newell can also be seen serving as the primary event manager at all JU athletic events.

Newell is a native of Harrisburg, PA, and previously served as the Athletic Administrator at Auburn University Montgomery (AUM). His work at AUM included everything from event management to student academic monitoring.

Prior ot AUM, Newell served as the Facilities and Operations Graduate Intern at the University of Michigan's Yost Ice Arena in 2004. At Yost, he served as the event manager for all Michigan Ice Hockey games and coordinated the scheduling and contracts of outside group usage.

Newell received his Master's of Education in Sports Management from Millersville University (Lancaster, PA) in 2005. He pursued his master's after coaching lacrosse at his high school alma mater for three years and receiving a Bachelor's Degree in General Agriculture from the University of Delaware in 2001.
