Nick Whiting begins his first year with the JU Athletics Department as the media relations assistant.

A native of Panama City, Fla., Whiting will serve as the primary contact for men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, women's track and field and softball.

Prior to JU, he held the position of sports information intern at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where his main duties were assisting in the publication of the Mocs' cross country and track media guides, as well as assisting in the day to day operations of the office.

Before starting his career in media relations, Whiting was a a website columnist for NFL Draft Blitz and served as a professional football scout for the Indoor Football Scouting Bureau. He was also the director of player personnel for the Lakeland Thunderbolts during their American Indoor Football Association title run in 2007.

A 2007 graduate of the University of West Florida, Whiting earned his B.A. in communications with a specialization in public relations.
