AS A JUNIOR (2007): Made 14 appearances out of the bullpen as the Dolphins' closer before moving into the starting rotation in the final month of the season (five starts)...missed the first 22 games after recovering from elbow surgery... led the JU staff with a 3.41 ERA...as a starter, he led the squad with a 2-0 record, a 3.33 ERA, 20 strikeouts and a .229 opponent batting average in 27 innings pitched during four starts through the regular season and A-Sun Tournament...named to the A-Sun all-tournament team after allowing one run on six hits with four strikeouts in eight innings against host Stetson in an elimination game (5/24)...hurled his first career complete game victory at East Tennessee State (5/12)... tied a career-best with seven strikeouts against North Florida (5/6)... ended an 18-game losing streak against Florida State by hurling an inning of scoreless relief to secure a 5-3 win over the No. 1 Seminoles (4/10)...currently tied for second in the career record book with 13 saves... drafted in the 30th round of the MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Angels. AS A SOPHOMORE (2006): A versatile part of the Dolphin pitching staff after assuming the roles of starter, middle relief and closer...appeared in 19 games, including five starts...led the squad with six saves, including four in the last month of the season...went 2-1 with a 3.18 ERA and 18 strikeouts in five starts...posted a 4-1 mark with a 2.49 ERA and 25.1 innings in 14 relief appearances...after sitting out a month with elbow soreness, he won his debut against Western Michigan (3/4) after allowing only one hit and five strikeouts in three innings...won his second game against Harvard (3/25) after allowing no earned runs while tying a career high with seven strikeouts in five innings...notched his first save of the year at North Florida (4/9)...also registered saves vs. Stetson (4/15), at Florida Atlantic (4/29), at Kennesaw State (5/6) and at Lipscomb (5/19)...struck out five batters in a four-inning relief appearance at Campbell (3/18)...did not allow an earned run in his last six appearances (six innings) in the regular season...earned the save vs. Sacred Heart (6/3) in the NCAA Regionals. HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year starter as a third baseman and pitcher at Fernandina Beach High School for coach Ken Roland...as a junior, he earned first team all-state, all-First Coast and All-Florida Times Union and Nassau County "Player of the Year" accolades after posting a 10-2 record with a 1.56 ERA and 89 strikeouts in 83 innings...also led Fernandina Beach to a regional championship and placed second in the state after batting .398 with eight home runs, two triples and 12 doubles...as a freshman, he earned team "Rookie of the Year" honors after helping the squad to a district championship.
