AS A REDSHIRT-JUNIOR (2007): Played in 56 games, including 54 starts in center field, while missing four games due to a shoulder injury...the offensive catalyst for the Dolphins, he started 45 games at the leadoff spot...tied for second on the squad with 16 steals, ranked second with 48 runs and 39 walks and was third on the squad with six sacrifice bunts and a .360 on-base percentage...also ranked fifth with 57 hits...recorded a season-high three hits on five occasions, including three games in a row from 3/31-4/7...tallied a seven-game hitting streak on the year...drew a season-high four walks in his first collegiate game against Florida A&M (1/30)...a ball hawk in the field, he committed only one error in 115 chances...played for the Derby Twins in the Jayhawk League with current Dolphin teammate Chuck Opachich...earned first team all-league honors after helping the Twins to the NBC World Series...led the Twins with 15 stolen bases and ranked third with a .314 batting average. PRIOR TO JU: Attended College of Charleston but did not participate in any sports...played two years at Pensacola Junior College as a center fielder for Bill Hamilton...led the Pirates to a combined record of 76-19 and a state championship as a freshman...as a freshman, he was named to the Florida Junior College All-Star team and earned first team all-state tournament honors after batting .380 with a .460 on-base percentage while also stealing 30 bases...also named Most Valuable Freshman. HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year starter at Gulf Coast High School as a center fielder...finished prep career with Shark records for stolen bases, hits, triples, runs, outfield assists and longest hitting streak...as a senior, he earned team MVP honors and all-state accolades after batting .478 and stealing 26 bases...as a junior, he was named team MVP and earned all-state honors after batting .505 with 24 stolen bases...as a sophomore, he batted .396 with 17 stolen bases...also lettered in football and wrestling.
