AS A REDSHIRT-JUNIOR (2007): Played in 47 games, including 42 starts at shortstop, while missing 15 games during the year due to thumb and hamstring injuries...came on strong at the end of the season to finish second on the squad with a .360 average in the final 10 games leading up to NCAA Regionals...batted .294 (5-17) with a double and three RBI in the A-Sun Tournament...recorded a season-high three hits at East Tennessee State (5/13) and against Belmont (5/26) in the championship game of the conference tournament...drove in a season-high three runs with a triple and a home run in game one of a doubleheader at Gardner-Webb (4/14)...led the squad with nine sacrifice bunts and ranks sixth on the all-time list with 21...drew a season-high three walks against Florida A&M (2/7)...earned A-Sun Academic All-Conference honors and was named to the Dean's List....in summer league play, he was a member of the Winter Springs Cudas. AS A REDSHIRT-SOPHOMORE (2006): Started all 62 games at shortstop...after batting .267 on March 25, he raised his average more than 50 points to finish at .322...during that span, he batted .369 with 45 hits and 21 RBI, including a career-high 13-game hitting streak (4/14-5/7)...ranked second on the squad with a .382 batting average, 47 hits and two triples during A-Sun play...went 3-for-5 with a triple and a career-high four RBI at Campbell (3/17)...hit his second career home run against Stetson (4/15)...led the squad with eight sacrifice bunts...ranked third on the team with 12 multi-RBI games...hit .402 (33-82) when batting with two outs...earned A-Sun Academic All-Conference honors and was named to the President's Honor Roll with a 4.0 GPA. AS A REDSHIRT-FRESHMAN (2005): Started all 54 games at shortstop...earned A-Sun all-freshman team and all-Sunshine State honors after finishing second on the squad with a .328 batting average and a .395 on-base percentage... also ranked third on the team with 61 hits, eight doubles, 29 RBI, 20-multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI games...average never dipped below .315 and only went hitless in consecutive games once all season...also led the Dolphins with a .415 average with runners in scoring position...recorded his first collegiate hit and drove in his first run against Florida A&M (2/8)...drove in a season-high three runners in back-to-back games against Bethune-Cookman (2/13) and Georgia Southern (2/15)...hit his first career home run at No. 10 Florida State (5/17)...went a career-high 4-for-4 at Stetson (5/1)...earned A-Sun Academic All-Conference honors and was named to the Dean's List for the second consecutive year...in summer league play, he earned all-star and Team Position Player MVP honors after leading the Winter Park Diamond Dogs with a .306 batting average, 34 hits, nine doubles, 45 total bases and a .414 slugging percentage...his totals also ranked him third in the Florida Collegiate Summer League in doubles and seventh in total bases...led the Dogs to a No. 1 seed in the FCSL Playoffs with a 20-13 record before losing to Daytona Beach in the semifinals. AS A FRESHMAN (2004): Sat out the season as a redshirt...earned A-Sun Academic All-Conference honors and was named to the Dean's List. HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year starter at Oviedo High School as a shortstop for coach Kevin Wainscott...won two district championships and a regional title with the Lions...as a senior, he earned honorable mention all-state honors after hitting .363 with three home runs and 23 RBI...also earned first team all-area, first team all-district and second team all-Central Florida honors as Oviedo went 28-3 to win its second straight district championship...as a junior, he hit .370 with two home runs and 15 RBI to help lead Oviedo to a district and regional championship...as a sophomore, he batted .300...off the field, he was named to the Dean's List and Honor Roll and graduated with a 4.2 GPA to earn the student athlete of the year award. PERSONAL: Born Feb. 13, 1985, in Elgin, Ill...son of Victor and Jacqueline...has a brother, Derek...major is biology with a minor in sociology...was recently accepted to Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry.
