Prior to JU: Two-year starter at Hutchinson CC as a pitcher and third baseman for Kyle Crookes...as a sophomore, he led the Jayhawks to a second-consecutive conference title and a 43-13 record with a 6-0 record, a 1.62 ERA, a .193 opponent batting average and 45 strikeouts in 39 innings...as a freshman, he led the squad to a region title and the Junior College World Series after posting a 2-1 record and a 3.80 ERA...also earned the Student-Athlete Achievement Award.

High School: Four-year starter at Norman North High School as a pitcher, shortstop and third baseman for Shemnan Enfield...as a senior, he finished with a 6-3 record and a 2.70 ERA while batting .343...set school record for career wins (26) and represented Team USA in the Goodwill Games for the second straight year...as a junior, he earned first team all-conference and second team all-state honors after posting a 10-3 record and a 1.80 ERA while batting .370...also represented Team USA in the Goodwill Games...as a sophomore, he was named first team all-conference after finishing the year with an 8-2 record (a school record for a sophomore) and a 2.10 ERA while batting .330...as a freshman, he set a school record for most games played by a freshman while tallying a 2-1 record and two saves while batting .300...in AAU play, he lead the 17-under USSSA squad to a second-place finish in the national tournament...helped the 16-under squad to a national championship in 2002.
