HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year starter at Mount Vernon High School as a catcher for James Linza...as a junior, he earned All-Northern Virginia Regional and all-district honors after leading the Majors with a .567 on-base percentage while committing only one error in 187 total chances...also ranked second on the squad with a .429 batting average, 30 hits and 23 runs to lead the squad to a third-straight district title...as a sophomore, he was named to the all-district team after leading the squad with a .541 on-base percentage...also led the Majors to their second-consecutive district championship...as a freshman, he earned all-district honors after committing only one error behind the dish in 183 total chances, while throwing out 41 percent of base runners...also led the squad to a district title...in AAU action, he batted .388 with a .600 slugging percentage and committed only two errors in 197 total chances to lead the American Legion Post 24 team to a second-place finish in the national championship tournament in Tempe, Ariz...graduated in the top 15 percent of his class with a 3.38 GPA while also garnering academic honor roll honors each year.
