AS A REDSHIRT-SOPHOMORE (2005): Appeared in 39 games, including 14 starts in center field...tallied a career-high two hits at Florida A&M, vs. Maryland and against Stetson...hit a pair of two-run doubles as a pinch-hitter against Gardner-Webb and Stetson...did not commit an error in the field.

AS A REDSHIRT-FRESHMAN (2005): Appeared in 24 games, including a start in left field and center field...scored six runs as a pinch-runner...recorded his first collegiate hit at Stetson (5/1)...drove in his first run against Georgia State (3/20)...stole his first base against Florida A&M (2/8).

AS A FRESHMAN (2004): Appeared in three games before sitting out the season as a medical redshirt...earned Dean's List and A-Sun Academic All-Conference honors during the spring semester.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year starter in center field at Pedro Menendez High School for coach Doug Brennan...as a senior, he hit .393 with a home run and 12 stolen bases to earn all-county, all-district and team MVP honors...as a junior, he batted .290...as a sophomore, he hit .320...also played two seasons of football, passing for 600 yards and seven TD's as a junior.

PERSONAL: Born Nov. 1, 1984, in St. Augustine, Fla...son of Michael and Lynne Tiner...has a brother, Michael...uncle, Ralph Tiner, holds JU basketball's career scoring record (2,184 points), playing from 1962-65...major is exercise science.
