Baseball To Gather For NCAA Selection Show on Monday

What: NCAA Baseball Selection Show gathering for JU Baseball

When: Monday, May 21, 3:00 p.m.

Where: Mudville Grille-St. Nicholas, Intersection of Atlantic and Beach Blvd.

Who: JU Baseball Team, Fans and Media

Notes: The 2001 Division I Baseball Championship 64-team field, with first-round regional parings and site assignments, will be revealed in a live, half-hour telecast on ESPN at 3 p.m. Eastern time, Monday, May 21. The program will originate from the ESPN studios in Bristol, Conn.

JU PLAYERS AND COACHES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR INTERVIEWS FOLLOWING THE SELECTION SHOW AT MUDVILLE GRILLE-ST. NIChOLAS.

About JU: The Dolphins are 38-23 on the season after advancing to the final game of the 2001 TAAC Baseball Championship before falling to eighth-ranked UCF, 11-2. JU won the season series with the Golden Knights, 3-2, including a 10-9 win on Saturday in the TAAC Tourney, while also defeating No. 3 Miami in Coral Gables on May 4. Although the Dolphins do not have an automatic bid to the NCAA Regional, they are considered a heavy favorite to receive an at-large invitation. JU ended the season by winning 13 of its last 18 games and finished third in the TAAC with an 18-9 mark.
