Hurrell Named To GTE All-Academic Team

Jacksonville, Fla. - Jacksonville University senior third baseman Josh Hurrell (Lincoln, Neb.) was named to the GTE Academic All-District III first-team earlier today. Hurrell, who is a fifth-year student pursuing his MBA, has compiled a 3.8 GPA to go along with his on-field accomplishments. With his selection to the District III team, Hurrell is eligible to become a GTE Academic All-America selection. Currently batting .331, fourth on the team, with 10 doubles and a team-high three triples and seven home runs, Hurrell has driven in 38 runs on the year, second on the Dolphin team. Hurrell, who is third on the team in steals (16) and second in walks (37) this season, is seventh all-time in walks at JU, sixth in triples, 10th in steals and second in sacrifices.
