Prior to JU:Played two years at Florida Community College of Jacksonville under head coach Phillip Stitt...was named Academic "Player of the Year", Mid-Florida Conference all-academic team and all-state academic team both years at FCCJ...averaged 11.3 points, 4.2 assists, 2.1 steals and 4.3 rebounds a game.

High School:Started senior year for Providence School under head coach Jim Martin...led team to 26-4 finish and the regional semifinals after averaging 12.2 points, 3.3 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game...played junior and sophomore seasons at Fletcher High School...Florida Bright Futures Award recipient.

Personal:Born April 26, 1987 in Neptune Beach, Fla...son of Dane and Karan Gilbert...has a brother, Joe (26); and a sister Mariah (17)...both parents are JU graduates.
