  Kerry Webb

Kerry Webb

Player Profile

Position:
Running backs/Special team coordinator

Experience:
First Season

Kerry Webb joins the JU program this season after a two-year stint with regional powerhouse Valdosta State.

Webb will be in charge of the running backs for the Dolphins, looking to find the replacement for JU's all-time leading rusher Jerry Brant.

"Kerry has a tremendous work ethic and is a great addition to our staff," head coach Kerwin Bell said. "He's a young guy who loves the game and has learned a lot in a short amount of time around it."

Webb spent the past two seasons at Valdosta State under new Georgia Southern head coach Chris Hatcher. While at VSU, Webb coached cornerbacks, served as head coach of the junior varsity team and handled scouting the opponents offense.

He also was committed to success in the classroom, receiving his master's degree from Valdosta State this past spring.

"I appreciate the opportunity Coach Bell has given me and I am excited about the future of JU football," Webb said. "This program has a lot of potential and I look forward to building it into something special."

A graudate of the University of Florida, Webb worked as a video coordinator for the football program during his college days - breaking down the film from both games and practices.

A native of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., Webb lives in Jacksonville and is single.
