Geavon Tribble named Community First

Oct. 15, 2007

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Junior wide receiver Geavon Tribble was named the Community First "Player of the Week" after a career performance against Morehead State on Homecoming Saturday at D.B. Milne Field.

Tribble had a record-setting performance for the Dolphins, catching five passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns. His 229 yards receiving were 23 more than the previous school-record held by Jon Turner. His 90 yard touchdown in the fourth quarter not only sealed the win for the Dolphins, but was also the longest reception in JU history.

Tribble's big day made him the seventh player in school history to record more than 1,000 receiving yards in his career, joining teammate Michael Jenner who accomplished the feat in the game against Dayton on Oct. 6.

This was not the first time Tribble has had a big game against Morehead State - last year he finished with 10 catches for 159 yards and three touchdowns against the Eagles at Jayne Stadium.

The Dolphins are on the road this week, traveling to San Diego for a 9 p.m. EST kickoff on Saturday.
