Six Dolphins earn recognition from the Pioneer Football League

Nov. 20, 2007

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - David Locander and Robson Noel were named second team all-Pioneer Football League, headlining a group of six Dolphins that earned all-conference honors on Wednesday.

Locander, a four-year starter on the offensive line, helped paved the way for Jerry Brant to break the school's all-time rushing record and wrapped up his career this season by protecting quarterback Chris Horton to set the school's all-time passing record.

Noel, a junior defensive back, continued his stellar career by leading the Dolphins in tackles. An All-America selection a year ago, Noel moved to free safety in preseason camp and stepped up for JU by leading the team in tackles in seven games.

"All of these young men are deserving of this honor," said JU head coach Kerwin Bell. "David and Robson were two of our leaders in the way they played. They showed our younger guys the effort that it takes to be successful at this level."

Four other Dolphins earned PFL honorable mention - fullback Jeremy Brown, center Steve Reynolds, strong safety James Mills and return specialist Nate Conner.
