Men's tennis defeats FAMU, 5-2

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The JU men's tennis team defeated Florida A & M, 5-2, on Saturday in Tallahassee, Fla., going 4-2 in singles play while also taking the double point. The Dolphins' No. 1-3 all claimed three-set victories, with Jordi Ballester defeating Clifford Malivert 1-6, 6-3, 6-3, Victor Vaz beating Artiom Podgainii 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 and Francisco Riveroll claiming a 4-6, 7-5, 5-3 (retired) victory over Simba Happy. Dolphins' No. 4 Vinicius Craveiro defeated Maurice Wamukowa in two sets 6-1, 6-3. The No.1 team of Ballester and Riveroll combined to pick up the 8-3 doubles victory and the No. 3 team of Oliveiro and Craveiro won 8-6 to seal the double's point for the Dolphins. The Dolphins will be back in action on Friday when they host conference rival East Tennessee State at the Keith Watson Tennis Complex at 10 a.m.
