Pamela Shelley

Player Profile

Position:
Assistant Coach

Alma mater:
JU, 2005 (Communications)

Pamela Shelley returns for her second year with the program, serving as the assistant coach working primarily with the women's team.

Shelley isn't a stranger to JU, playing four years for the Dolphins and earning her degree in 2005. She was the team captain her senior year and earned team MVP honors after finishing the season with the lowest stroke average on the squad.

Her first season with the team saw JU make strides on the women's side, with several players improving their stroke average from the previous year. She also helped lead the Dolphins to the team title at the North-South Intercollegiate, rallying in the final round to win the tournament.

"Pamela knows what it is like to be a collegiate golfer and what it takes to be successful at this level."
Head coach Jim Taketa

"I'm excited about the future of the women's golf program at JU," Shelley said. "We have some very talented players that are working hard to become one of the top teams in the conference."

The 2004 Alachua County Amateur Champion, Shelley also works at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.

"Pamela's addition to the coaching staff gives our women's program a role model," said JU head coach Jim Taketa. "She knows what it is like to be a collegiate golfer and what it takes to be successful at this level. With her knowledge and experience, she is a great fit for our program."
