JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - JU women's soccer junior forward Keri Zwikker continues to collect postseason accolades as she was named to the 2007 scholar all-south region third team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Zwikker finished the season with 16 goals and 37 points. Her goals per game total of 0.8 finished ninth in the nation while her points per game total of 1.85 was 11th, earning her Atlantic Sun first team all-conference honors for the third year in a row.

Also a success in the classroom, Zwikker was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America second team and all-district first team. "It is a great honor for Keri and the team," said JU head coach Brian Copham. "It is exciting that her achievements on and off the field are recognized.

Zwikker, a Woodstock, Ontario, Canada native, has a 3.88 cumulative grade point average and is majoring in exercise science.

The Dolphins will begin preparations for the 2008 season with a spring game against Savannah College of Art and Design on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Ashley Sports Complex.

The Dolphins received the Team Ethics and Team Academic awards from the NSCAA.

The NSCAA Team Ethics Award recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.

The Dolphins recorded only nine cautions this season to receive the bronze honor. They also were awarded the Team Academic Award by the NSCAA after posting a 3.23 grade point average during the 2006-07 school semester.

"I am proud that the girls were recognized for their high level of sportsmanship and dedication in the classroom," Copham said. "It shows they play with discipline and class and strive for excellence on and off the field."

This is the third year in a row the Dolphins have earned the Team Academic Award and the second year for the Team Ethics Award.
